Making
art for Lydia Arbizo is a spiritual endeavor that
she has taken every opportunity to expand and explore through many
mediums. She began with painting by numbers as a child
and moved on to draw in pencil, then played with pastels and ink. She
then moved on
to making collage and learned the art fundamentals of still life using
oils. She also discovered a passion for Sculpting
as well as printmaking, photography, jewelry and wood carving.
As a
Fusionartist, Lydia is presently painting with acrylics in a kind of
free style,
using no restrictions. She often paints large figurative and abstract
images
using color and music to inspire her work. She describes her art as a
meditation where she holds a space for creativity to take control. “ I
surrender
my body and soul to remain open and often touched by the results of my
paint
strokes. This is the magic and joy I
feel from painting and making art.”
Lydia
considers Fusionart part of her artistic family and community.
She sees the movement as an opportunity to be
connected with the world to learn more about people from other
cultures.
