Felix de Quesada, born in La Habana, Cuba and grew up in Camaguey, where he spent some of the time in the city and part of the time in the countryside among the cattle growers. In 1950, he entered to study Law. In 1952, while a law student at the University of La Habana, he opposed the military “coup d’etat” that overthrew the constitutional government in Cuba. In 1957, he married Margarita Parraga, a fellow Law School graduate, and they went into exile to Houston, Texas, where he studied Economics at the University of Houston. In 1959 when the Baptista Dictatorship fell, he returned to Cuba with his wife to practice law and wrote several political articles for “Adelante.” Between 1961 and 1964, he participated in counter- revolutionary activities. He was arrested, but released unharmed. In 1964, he went into exile again, this time with his wife and 4-year-old daughter. He arrived in Florida where he lived for a year before moving to CA.
Felix has been painting since 1969 and has exhibited at:
- Cuban Art Festivals sponsored by the City of Hawthorne and by the City of Los Angeles.
- His work was displayed in the Art Mart of Sedona, Arizona
- He participated in the Art Exhibit of the State Bar of California in Monterey.
- Exhibited at Agape Spiritual Center in Culver City
